Come make your own Hawaiian Fish Block from the multiple award-winning quilt Bubbles. Lailani is one of those happy party fish originating from Hawaii. Growing up in the warm waters off Makapu’u Point she learned to absolutely LOVE colors. The more the better! This goes both for herself and the places that she hangs out in. She is so happy that her sister Kailea came with her from Hawaii. They miss their family a bit but they have created their own Ohana, which means family in Hawaiian, together with all the other fish. Now it really feels like home for them in Bubbles.

In this two-day class you will learn many different stitches in your project, including: Lazy Daisy Stitch, Chain Stitch, Pistil Stitch, Bullion Knot
Stitch, Straight Stitch, Back Stitch, Trellis Stitch, Cast On Bullion Stitch, Colonial Knot Stitch, Tete De Boeuf Stitch, Whipped Woven Circle, Wheatear Stitch, Fly Stitch, Closed Fly Stitch, Feather Stitch, Turkey Work, Danish Knot Stitch, Oyster Stitch, Woven Picot Stitch, Palestrina Stitch, Cable Knotted Chain (Variation) Stitch, and Whip Stitch.

All kits include hand dyed wool, embellishment threads as well as pattern, color photos and detailed written instructions.

Cost: $130.00   Kit fee: Students will order kit in advance directly from instructor at www.mamalohde.com. Kit fee (payable to Mama Lohde) is $86.00. Kit will be shipped to your home so that you can do some prep work before coming to Quilting on the Beach.

Home work ahead of class:
● You will need to go to www.mamalohde.com and purchase your LAILANI kit ahead of class. It will be shipped to you before the retreat.
● You will need to Whip Stitch all the components onto the background wool before class. I use Wondefill Ellana EN (or a super fine cotton thread can also be used).
● Not included in kit, threads for Whip Stitching, EN Color number: 07, 09, 10, 16, 18, 34, 47, 53, 56.
